I’m Ben Stone, one of your TA’s!

I’m a PhD student in the dept. of Evolution, Ecology, & Organismal Biology. I study, generally, the process of diversification in the genus Penstemon. I like to think of my research as operating at two scales: within species, and between species.

For within-species studies, I focus on the shrubby Penstemons, species of which typically live in montane areas of the Pacific Northwest of North America.

For between-species studies, I implement trait data (typically) and theĀ Penstemon phylogeny in a comparative methodological framework.

One of my study organisms, Penstemon lyallii
